Patrick Kane Indicted, sort of….

August 19, 2009

A Grand Jury has dismissed the most serious felony charges against Patrick Kane and his cousin James Kane. However Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita announced the grand jury has indicted both defendants for Assault in the 3rd degree and theft of services (both misdemeanors), and harassment (a violation level offense). Patrick Kane is to appear in Buffalo City Court Thursday afternoon to answer to the charges against him.

It is only fair that they treat him like any member of the general public and hopefully this will end up as a “lesson learned” situation for both the Kane’s. I am only hoping that the NHL only talk to Kane and not follow up with any disciplinary action on this issue. It was stupid, no doubting that. But punishable via suspension I don’t think so. After all they did try to take a cab home after a good night of drinking. And the cab driver admitted he locked them in the cab after he felt they weren’t going to pay. I am not approving of this display of violence. Just saying it’s not the worst anyone including an NHLer has done.
